Wordless Wednesday: Where Is This Place?

Taken somewhere in England in 1944-45.
The two fellows at left were American airmen stationed
at Old Buckenham Airfield, near Attleborough, Norfolk.
Second from left is my cousin who doesn't recall the exact
location, only that it was an estate or manor house that before
the war was owned by a German who made a fortune in apple cider.
During the war, American soldiers were sent there for R&R.

Do you recognize this place??

Darling, I have no clue as to where this photo was taken. If I had to take a guess I would say Bath, don't ask me why, it just reminds me of Bath!! I fancy the new dress your blog is wearing, simply divine. Darling have yourself a fabulous weekend!!

Imagine, making a fortune from Apple Cider. I hope someone figures out where this was taken. I assume it would probably take an old timer to recognize... so many changes.

It could be so many places, nothing rings any bells for me, but I don't know East Anglia very well. They do look lovely, no wonder all the English girls loved to see the American airmen!

Thanks for visiting mine, I've enjoyed having a wander here. I can't seem to find our contact point though - no one in your blogroll I know! That's always intriguing...

Lucy, I think I figured out our contact point and left a comment to that effect on your Bloggery post at http://box-elder.blogspot.com/2009/08/apology-for-bloggery-warning-its-long.html

And thanks for looking past the airmen at the building, even though it rings no bells.
